… and it was a little a lot, weird. Adam Lambert’s version of Ring of Fire was by far the oddest thing I’ve heard thus far on American Idol. Of course, I don’t watch EVERY week or even all of any episode. So who knows what other goodies I’m missing. I enjoyed last year’s INXS throwback, and I liked the winner last season. But while Adam was singing, I kept thinking I was listening to Freddie Mercury on a Johnny Cash tribute album. Then, Randy hit the nail on the head, …so to speak. That was exactly what Ring of Fire would sound like if it was covered by NIN (Nine Inch Nails). Now, … since it’s been at least 16 years since I’ve heard NIN, I’m going back to the laundry before anything else odd happens.
